Before you write.

How do I become a member of UCCCU?

Membership is held through one of our 140 primary cooperative societies. If you are a dairy farmer in South Western Uganda, contact the cooperative nearest to you or write to us and we will help you find it. Membership is at the primary cooperative level; the union is owned by those cooperatives.

Where does UCCCU operate?

The union brings together primary cooperatives in sixteen districts of South Western Uganda, with 183 milk collection centres across the region. Our head office is on Akiiki Nyabongo Road in Mbarara.

Can I use the animal diagnostic laboratory?

The laboratory supports farmers, cooperatives, veterinarians and para-veterinarians. Samples are usually submitted through your veterinarian or cooperative. Contact us for guidance on sample collection, handling and transport before sending a sample.

Does UCCCU buy milk directly from farmers?

Milk is collected through member primary cooperatives and their milk collection centres. If you are a farmer looking for a collection point, or a buyer looking to source through the cooperative network, contact the union office and we will connect you.

How can my organisation partner with UCCCU?

We work with government, universities, development organisations and companies on animal health, training, inputs, cold chain, processing and market access. Send us a short note about your organisation and the opportunity you have in mind. We will route it to the relevant team.

Where can I find reports or sector data?

For dairy sector information, annual reports or project documentation, write to info@ucccu.or.ug with the subject line “Information request”. We will share what is publicly available.
